A homeowner contacted ASAP Drain Guys & Plumbing to replace a failed 50 gallon gas water heater that had flooded their garage. They were interested in getting a new tankless water heater. They were also interested in getting a whole home water filtration system.
Upon arrival, the ASAP technician drained and disconnected the 50 gallon water heater. The stand was demoed. The brackets to hang the EZ 75 Nortiz Tankless Water Heater were installed followed by the tankless water heater installation. The tech then installed the isolation kit and hooked up the new supply lines. The tech ran the T&P line and tied it to the existing T&P line. The T&P line was soldered in place.
The wall was opened to expose 1/2″ gas line and the tech removed and replaced approximately 3 feet of gas line to obtain the needed volume of gas to operate the new tankless water heater. He installed a 3/4″ sediment trap at the wall with new 3/4″ full port ball valve and a 3/4″ gas line. A 2″ flexible exhaust pipe, vent cap, and heat shield provided in the EZ Nortiz kit was installed. He then installed the provided remote control panel on the wall opposite of the heater and set dip switches for installation chosen for fresh air intake. Lastly, the tank was re-energized and tested for proper function. There are no leaks and the tankless water heater is working properly at this time.
To install the water filtration system, the technician shut off the water supply and drained the system. He cut the 1″ water supply line located inside of the garage and engineered plumbing for installation of a new Halo Whole House Water Filtration System per manufacturer’s instructions. The tech purged the new water filtration system as per manufacturer’s guidelines. All plumbing fixtures throughout the home were checked for proper function and leaks. There are no leaks at this time and all plumbing fixtures are working properly at this time. Water service was restored to the home. The technician cleaned the work area before leaving.
