Plumbing Inspections and Tests
A building’s plumbing system may not have all the moving parts of a major appliance or vehicle, but that doesn’t mean that you can ignore it. Experts recommend a plumbing inspection every 3 to 4 years, even if there have been no problems requiring repair. They also suggest having the sewer line cleaned every few years, especially for commercial buildings.
An experienced plumber can spot many potential problems with just a quick visual inspection. They will be on the lookout for visible leaks, signs of hidden leaks (moisture, lime deposits, water stains…), and corrosion, check that valves are working, and inspect the hot water heater burner, pressure release, and venting.
Interesting Fact: Did you know that some 10% of American homes have small leaks that result in $100 or more in wasted water each year?
Sewer Line and Drain Inspection
Our in-pipe video cameras let us inspect the inside of your drain pipes and sewer lines. We’re primarily looking for accumulating grease and grime as well as tree roots that will sooner or later cause a complete clog and perhaps even a sewage backup. We’ll also be on the lookout for cracks, corrosion, and other issues that may lead to big problems later.
Hidden Water Leak Testing
It’s not at all uncommon to have a hidden water leak and not even know about it. Hidden inside a wall, above the ceiling, or under the concrete floor slab, even small leaks gradually cause more and more damage. Beyond discoloration and mold, that can include damage to the wood framework structure of your home or business. An un-repaired slab leak can lead to uneven settling of the building, that in turn can cause cracks in the floor and walls with big repair expenses.
We can perform a quick and sensitive pressure test to determine if any leaks are present. If they are, we can then track down their exact location.

Preventive Maintenance
If you’re not on a scheduled maintenance plan, then a plumbing repair is also a good time for preventive maintenance services. That’s the key to avoiding major problems.
For homes it’s basically an inspection, plus water heater service. Beyond a burner and safety check, draining and flushing the hot water heater will clear deposits from inside the tank and increase the lifetime of your heater. That also improves efficiency, saving energy while providing more hot water.
Commercial plumbing fixtures and drains are subject to much heavier use, so our commercial plumbing maintenance adds regular drain inspection and cleaning, adjustment and maintenance of flushing mechanisms, and more. We’ll take the conditions and usage of your particular facility into account and can propose a custom plan that provides the best value.
