Villa Loma Apartments in Carlsbad, CA called ASAP Drain Guys and Plumbing to investigate a leak in the attic. Due to the amount of water damage that was cause, a restoration company was already on site and had cut out a section of drywall. The technician opened up a 1’x1′ hole in the ceiling and found the leak on a corroded 1.25″ copper pipe that supplied hot water. In order to make repairs, water was shut off to the building, water heater recirculating pump was unplugged, shut off all valves in water heater closet and proceed to the drain the building of all water.
ASAP technician proceeded to cut out and remove leaking section of pipe, including to 90 fittings. Water continued to run while pipe was open, so it was necessary to install 1.25″ ball valve. The technician continued to rebuild pipe using Type L copper and soldered on fittings
