Leak Investigation and Leak Repair in San Diego, CA

A property management company contacted ASAP Drain Guys & Plumbing because of a tenant’s carpet in their hallway was wet. The property is in San Diego, Ca. The technician used an electric leak detection but could not hear anything due to the leak being so slow. He believed that the leak was most likely a slab leak so he jackhammered through the concrete in the hallway and dug to expose the water lines but no leak was found. He determined that the bedroom cabinet sink needed to be pulled to determine if leak was coming up from the pipes within concrete. The technician pulled the cabinet and was then able to determine that the leak was indeed within the wall. He cut open the drywall and found a 1/2” copper water line with a pinhole leak that goes into the unit above

The technician shut off water to the building. He cut out the bad section of pipe, plumbed in a new section of pipe, and soldered it together. He tested for leaks but there are no leaks at this time and the system is working properly. He then poured a concrete patch and cleaned up work area. The technician also recommend to management water restoration dry out.
