A property management company called ASAP Drain Guys & Plumbing to replace existing water heater with a tankless water heater.
Upon arrival the ASAP technician turned off the cold water supply. The water heater was drained, hot and cold water flex lines, and earthquake straps were removed. The gas supply was shut off and the gas flex line was removed. Next, the tech removed the water heater.
A new Noritz EZTR-40 Tankless water heater was mounted to the wall. New isolation valves were installed and connected to the hot and cold copper lines. A new 1/2″ galvanized pipe with drip leg and shut off was installed. The gas supply to the tankless was restored and the unit was tested for leaks. There are no leaks at this time.
The tech was unable to leave the tankless water heater connected. The power outlet was not properly working. The property’s HOA management was notified of the power outage and they will have an electrical company fix the power issue. Despite this setback, the tech was able to test the tankless water heater using the HOA President’s power next to the property’s equipment room. The tankless water heater is functioning properly at this time.
Lastly the tech cleaned up the work area before leaving.
