A property management company emailed ASAP Drain Guys and Plumbing regarding a gas leak. Upon arrival, ASAP disassembled the pipes at the meter and pressurized 11/4 pipe and 1″ pipe both supplying pool and spa heater. ASAP then used compressed air to test the gas line and found a leak on 1″ rise underground. ASAP excavated around the pipe and removed the riser. They then installed a new galvanized riser using pipe wrap primer and tape.
ASAP continued to pressurize the line. The leak detection found valve to be leaking. They cut the valve out, capped the line, and repressurized the line and found the line to still be leaking underground. ASAP recommended that the line be replaced.
ASAP tested 11/4 line and found that it was holding pressure.
ASAP went the City of Oceanside and will need to draw a plot plan before getting permit to repair the gas line. They recommend that both lines going in separate directions underground be replaced.
