A property management company called ASAP Drain Guys & Plumbing after hours because a tenant’s kitchen sink was backed up.
Upon arrival, the tech disassembled the P trap under the kitchen sink and cabled it. Due to sludge build up, the cable could not pass 7 feet.
The tech went into the parking structure per the request of the property manager and removed a section of the cast iron piping to cable through the vertical overhead pipe. He was able to successfully clear the line. The line backed up again shortly after but downstream on a horizontal line. The tech was able to cable the line and successfully clear it.
ASAP video inspected the vertical and horizontal line. The inspection showed that the vertical line needed to be jetted. The horizontal line needed to be replaced.
ASAP attempted to catch the majority of the sludge water that emerged from the drain but there was still some sludge that dirtied the floor. Since there was no available water to clean the area, the property manager will have their day porter clean the area the following day.
ASAP tested the kitchen drain in the unit and it showed to be properly working.
